Map material always fully up-to-date

A route planner can only be as good as the map material it uses. As a leading provider of route planners, navigation software and digital maps, we consider it to be extremely important to constantly update and improve our map data.

Since we also use our latest map material for map&guide base, you always have access to the most up-to-date and highest quality data available for route planning throughout all of Europe - in many cities door-to-door routing is possible. And all of this happens automatically without you even noticing.

If you purchase a route planner on a CD, then after a while you start to run the risk of being mislead as your software will not be aware of any new one-way roads or bypasses, for example, that feature in your route. Therefore it makes sense to regularly "refresh" your map material - a service that most manufacturers only offer once a year if at all. Furthermore you have to update the map yourself.

With map&guide base you can save yourself this hassle. The program automatically downloads the latest material available as soon as you open the map without you needing to lift a finger; even if the next update CD won't be in shops for three months. Map data you can rely on.

In addition we are constantly extending the areas and cities throughout Europe where you can perform door-to-door route calculations. This can be much more useful than you would first imagine. For example if your destination is located in a very long street that is intersected by a major road, motorway or one-way street.

More than half a million useful hints and tips

The POIs (Points of Interest) contain information for every requirement and every stretch of road throughout Europe:

• Petrol stations, train stations, airports and ferry landings to help you on your way,
• Car parks, service stations and Varta hotels for when you need to take a break,
• Trade fair locations and industrial areas for business trips, 
• Tourist sights, lakes and leisure facilities for when you need to relax
• ... plus many more.

And that's not all: Not only can you can include your own addresses (e.g. from Microsoft® Outlook) in route planning but you can also show these addresses on the map with special icons. You can therefore add your own POIs to those supplied with the software and turn map&guide base into your very own personalised route planner - for private or buisness use.

Most of these POIs are available in the map&guide base basic package. With the premium version you have the additional option of deciding which POIs you wish to display on the map and which ones you don't.

The POIs - like the map material - are of course always kept fully up-to-date.

No more wrong turns into one-way streets

There's nothing more annoying than when you've planned your journey well but then you suddenly realise a one-way street is dead ahead or that you can't turn left into the road you need. Your entire route planning is ruined and the resulting detour puts strain on your nerves and wastes half an hour or more of your time.

With map&guide such irritations are things of the past. The software accounts for one-way streets and turning restrictions when calculating the route - for all of Europe!
